they will finally tell us how they will tally IRV
since our voting systems cant handle it, and since IRV is not additive.
How will it be done for a statewide election?
Will there be one ballot for IRV contests and another for regular contests?
What about in DRE counties?
How will voters react to using two different election methods in one election? It didn't work out well for Scotland when they ran their first STV (cousin of IRV) election along with their regular election methods. They had 100,000 spoiled ballots.
What about voter education?
How will the election be audited?
Will the election be transparent? So far IRV pilots have not reported all vote data and in Hendersonville we requested but did not get ANY of the data for voters 2nd and 3rd choices.
No state in the country has attempted a statewide IRV election and few small jurisdictions handle it well.
Some hope that there will only be 2 candidates for Wynn's seat. Will a 1 week filing period be long enough for all candidates to file?
Will this attract a greater field since there is no primary?
My hope is that we will have some transparency in the vote tallying, but also that the SBoE does not use uncertified illegal voting software or systems.
