Under what condidtions should Governor Perdue veto legislation?

I voted for VETO bad bills no matter what -- as you would expect

However, it's not just a matter of principle. It makes good political sense to do so.

As I've said before, the only chance Perdue has of clawing herself up in the polls is to position herself in stark contrast to the GOP-led General Assembly.

You do that by using the VETO

On the Time Warner bill, that was a missed opportunity. I'm sure the veto would have been overridden, but it doesn't matter. The polling was strongly against the bill. That should have been an easy veto -- showing she would stand up to corporate overlords and their servants.

Any money Perdue or her folks think that will flow their way from Time Warner will be offset by money Time Warner sends to the GOP. There was nothing gained by this failure to veto.

Wish I could recommend comments

This one is right on the money.

Perdue has one chance and one chance only of defeating Ms. McCrory ... and that is to demonstrate in vivid color that she is single force standing between the Republican General Assembly and a wholesale meltdown of North Carolina's standing as a forward-looking, enlightened state.

Spread the word, peeps. Get your friends to vote in this poll. They don't have to be registered at BlueNC to vote.

I'd like to see her use the veto more. I think it could

Help her win the election. What we don't know is what negotiations are taking place. Who knows what if anything has been negotiated?

I wish Bev could be a

badass and veto everything with "and take that!" attitude. I just don't think she has it in her. She has always seemed way to meek to make a mark of any kind in the history books. Maybe we could all get together and buy her a personality. Poor thing.

Progressives are the true conservatives.

Too bad we don't have this guy

Now he knows how to stick it to them.
